FPGA Video Processing for Advanced Display Systems
Real-time pipelines for high-resolution video, with interface control and laboratory debug of flicker, lock loss and timing.
Architecture overview
Engineering challenge
- Panel timing and link rate are not closed with the FPGA resource plan.
- CDC and buffering show up as flicker or lock loss on the bench.
- Scaling, mapping or geometric correction is bolted on after the interface is already late.
Typical applications

Architecture approach
Processing architectures are partitioned according to interface bandwidth, latency, memory and panel-timing requirements.
Link lock, memory bandwidth and panel timing are reviewed before RTL expands. Performance targets and validation criteria are defined for each display, interface and application.
